Discover how much you can grow in Christlikeness as you pursue the practices of Bible study, prayer, fasting, fellowship, service, and worship.

Session 1

Seven Habits of Highly Hypocritical People [35:00]
James MacDonald examines hypocritical habits that can militate against authenticity in the Christian life. He uses Jesus' denunciation of the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 23 to identify ways hypocrisy undermines a sincere relationship with God and loving relationships with others.

Session 2

The Discipline of Personal Bible Study [36:20]
James MacDonald introduces personal Bible study as one discipline believers can practice to develop and maintain an authentic relationship with God. He teaches them to create an intentional time to study the Word, to understand how the Word can transform their lives, and to follow a practical process to learn and live the truths of the Word.

Session 3

The Discipline of Personal Prayer [32:00]
James MacDonald introduces personal prayer as one discipline believers can practice to develop and maintain an authentic relationship with God. Focusing on Jesus' teachings on prayer in Matthew 6, MacDonald teaches believers how to practice prayer that is real, simple, worshipful, submissive, practical, repentant, and expectant.

Session 4

The Discipline of Fasting [28:20]
James MacDonald introduces fasting as one discipline believers can practice to develop and maintain an authentic relationship with God. He shows that abstaining from food can break the chains of enslavement and can heighten believers' hunger for the things of God. He also provides practical guidelines for participating in a fast.

Session 5

The Discipline of Fellowship [32:15]
James MacDonald introduces fellowship as one discipline believers can practice to develop and maintain an authentic relationship with God. He defines what the Bible means when it refers to fellowship among believers. Then he examines 10 biblical teachings about fellowship that illustrate why it is critical to the life of a growing disciple.

Session 6

The Discipline of Service [31:00]
James MacDonald introduces service as one discipline believers can practice to develop and maintain an authentic relationship with God. He emphasizes that believers must not expect God to serve them before they have served Him. Believers must serve Jesus as their obligation to Him and must serve faithfully in spite of obstacles.

Session 7

The Discipline of Worship [31:15]
James MacDonald introduces worship as one discipline believers can practice to develop and maintain an authentic relationship with God. Describing worship as powerful, joy-producing, and hope-sustaining, MacDonald urges believers to avoid debate about worship, to start with salvation, to enter worship fully, and to focus worship on Jesus Christ.
